Chelsea boss Antonio Conte is a man under pressure and reportedly came close to being sacked this month following back-to-back defeats to Bournemouth and Watford.

The Italian has since steadied the ship but talk is rife about who could replace him if he is given his marching orders in the summer.

Ex-Barcelona boss Luis Enrique is the frontrunner for the job and is available having taken a year-long sabbatical since leaving the Nou Camp.

And Andres Iniesta has given his full support to his former manager and thinks he would be a huge success at Stamford Bridge.

“Luis Enrique is an excellent coach,” Iniesta said ahead of Barca’s upcoming Champions League clash with Chelsea on Tuesday night (7.45pm).

“In Barcelona he showed the incredible level he has reached and I think he could win trophies at any club – and that includes Chelsea.

“It won’t be easy because Chelsea is one of the biggest clubs in the world.

“But when you see what Enrique developed in Barcelona, then I think it is also possible in London.

“The Premier League is a tough competition but, for me, he is capable of managing any big English club.”

However, Enrique could have to wait for the Chelsea job as Italian agent Federico Pastorello claimed he could not see Conte leaving until his contract is up in 2019.

“I see him at Chelsea next year,” Pastorello said.

“He has a contract valid for another season and a half and doesn’t like to leave things unfinished.”
